Islam made me an atheist.

Before I learned about Islam, I was Christian. I held Christian morality in high esteem and believed in God.

After 911 I started studying Islam. I learned that Muslims, in the mainstream, are more committed to their religion than any other people. I saw that the worlds most "religious" people, believed in the world most violent and intolerant doctrine.

How could God let so many people (1.6 billlion) feel so certain about his authorship of the worlds most violent and absurd book, the Quran?

For example, Ali grows up in Pakistan. The cultural dominance of the religion gives him no choice. He never had a chance to be anything other than a Muslim. Hes brainwashed. He truely truely believes that his hatred and violence serves God.

If God existed, how could he allow such an insane state of affairs? God could have chose to not let Islam manifest, or Muhammad to have never existed.

Islam didnt have to be, but it is, therefore God doesnt exist.

you have an amazing theory there but its very inconclusive and is built off of the media. You seem to be the type of person who has studied verses taken out of context and pasted on websites to prove Islam is evil. You dont seemed to have asked any well known Imams. Perhaps you need to broaden your search before making such rash conclusions. How can god let 1.6 billion go astray? he didnt he led them on the straight true monotheistic path. Islam doesnt disprove god. IT proves god. The history behind the Quran must be studied before making such conclusions as the one you made. Muhammed was illitirate until the day he died the mere theory that Muhammed wrote the quran is impossible to prove because of the immense poetic style displayed in the Quran. The Quran is famous for bieng so poetic that at the time it was compiled the greatest poets were asked to replicate a similar piece, failed, and later converted to Islam. Miracle. If Islam is the straight path why must little ali choose to deviate from the straight path?

Well, it's a stretch, as there are violent passages in every religious work, NOT just Islam. It's an insane state of affairs becuase people utilize religion as a means of running countries politically. Hitler did this, Hussein did this, and our President is doing much the same. Whatever I believe in, God-wise, it is not the way to politicize a country. The Old Testament, the New Testament, the Quaran, etc. all mention ugliness, murder, & hatred. It is those in (and out of) each religion who recognize that people have the right to believe or not believe in God so long as they practice kindness and compassion that make any sense. Whatever your God be, I hope it is one of humanity and you keep Him/Her/It out of the political arena.

All the best to you.

It's an interesting approach, but my take on it is that Islam doesn't prove anything, because it contains essential flaws. Atheism is perfectly acceptable on purely rational grounds; the atheist asks for evidence, and the believer can offer only two sources: a "holy" book (to believe in which would be circular reasoning), and personal testimony of the self-anointed prophet, which must be suspect in any case.

I think Your missing the point.
Islam is really Satan's religion.
It teaches everything that is against the ten commandments.
I'm not joking. It teaches people to lie hate steal rape kill murder imprison covet and enslave.
Every time I say this people call me nuts but it's true. Islam breaks every commandment there is.
Of course they are Muslim and taught they are above the laws. Go figure. Anyone that does not believe their way is killable. Go Figure.
Bael and Kor'n made the religion of Islam through Muhammed. I am not lieing to anyone. The koran was named after Kor'n who is Bael's brother Bael is satan though he catches the name Lucifer.
Oh well. I know this too. If you don't believe in those religions they cant harm you.

There are two parts in religion. One is outer another is inner. For example Buddhism is outer, Zen in inner core. Islam is outer Sufi is inner. You might have faced only outer face of religion. Inner part is not religion, it is religiousness. It is soft, it is not appealing. It is not for mob, but for few intelligent people. Be cautious when you change religion. Every religion is like a jail. Changing jail does not solve your problem. This is what modern day mystic OSHO has said. Meditate over it. It is really helpful.

no where in the quran does it say u have to hate ppl
muslims believe in all the other religions (except idolatry n none religion) so they believe in jesus
jesus says 'love everyone', right?
so stop posting OPINIONS as FACTS
none of those things are true
and are u trying to prove to ppl on here that God does not exist?
u cant tell ppl what they should and should not believe in
many of ur questions will not be answered until judgement day
(i put that there on purpose so you'd know how it feels for another person to say somethings true when you personally dont believe it(if ur athiest))

that's a horrible misunderstanding of Islam. Personally I believe that Catholicism and some other Christian religions are ridiculous and absurd, but they are just a group's interpretation of the Maker, and not a reflection of Him. Just because you don't agree with someone's interpretation doesn't mean you can make generalizations.

Islam exists because man created it, not God, God allows it (for the meantime) because He gives us freewill and lets us decide whether we want to be evil or good. But there will be a day when God is completely fed up, like in the days of Noah, He will once again destroy the earth and everyone left on it.

don't be blinded by the negatives. you don't know that by giving up their lives on earth, that they were given eternal passage into heaven. Your human brain cannot begin to phathom the inner workings of God.

Its fine if your not christian or islamic or anything else, but dont disprove the idea that there's a higher being in existance. He works in mysterious ways...
