I forgot. Just kidding. Short term memory loss. The paranoid comes in after someone has quit. When they smoke they get paranoid. Of course U know that smoking anything is not good for your lungs. After one quits they cough up a lot of junk. I have not smoked 4 a long time. I stopped in 85 when my son was born, the work I did had random urine test & it was either get high or feed my family. That was a no brainer. I have smoked a couple of times 2 years ago. That's the only time I felt paranoid. In my case I grew up in the 60's & 70's & a lot of people smoked. I can tell U from experiance that I'm not paranoid, moody or suffer from memory loss. There is during the time I did smoke that I draw a blank & don't remember. Everyone is different so others may experiance things that someone else won't. It's a hard habit to kick if one has smokes a long time. I smoked about 18 years dailey. Stayed stoned from the time I got up till I went to sleep at night. Best advice I could give your friend is once they quit NEVER do it again. 1st week is the hardest after that it get's easier. I'm as sharp as ever now so I don't know that there R any long term effects once it is out of your system. I hope this helped & good luck to U both. They R lucky 2 have a friend like U.

I applaud you for trying to help someone. Too often pot is overlooked as a dangerous drug. IT IS! I was hopelessy addicted to pot for 26 years and it was responsible for pissing away a lot of potential. I was intelligent and ambitious, but got "side tracked" by pot. I was going nowhere. Even though I managed to have a career, it was nothing like I could have had. As soon as I quit I managed to buy a house, get custody of my daughter, get my pilots' license, buy an airplane, and be the kind of son, father, brother, uncle, and friend that I knew that I could be. Pot (or any drug) is like a ball and chain around your neck. Yes, you can make progress, but it inhibits your ability to realize your true potential. Anything that your friend thinks is a benefit of smoking pot is just an attempt to justify their addiction. The hardest part about quitting was the idea that my friends wouldn't think that I was cool anymore. What I needed was either new friends or to get a backbone and face down their criticism. The easiest way to kick the habit is to find something else that you are passionate about that is a positive force. for me it was flying, and I have never looked back. I have been clean now for 4 years and I feel great!!!!

YES, being paranoid and moody, also having long term memory loss, or lacking short term memory skills. Smoking pot also puts you at risk for lung cancer, and many other types of cancers.
