Crunches are way better, imo. Just standard crunches, back on the floor, hands near your temples (not touching or touching lightly), legs at a 90 degree angle and slowly bring your shoulders to your knees and slowly back down (not all the way back down, leave about 4 inches between your shoulders and the floor at all times...it keeps the contraction and gets better results)

If you're trying to get your abs in shape the best exercise that worked for me is to sit on a weight bench, coffee table, anything sturdy, sit on the edge put your hands on each side to brace yourself, for lower abs, put hands near edge beside your hips, draw your knees up to your chest, hold for 3 seconds, lower them slowly till your feet are almost touching the ground and repeat as many times as you can, for upper abs the same except lean back put your hands back to the side but behind you (like back of the bench or table), I promise this will work you should be able to feel it working the first day, I took fitness & nutrition, if you need any help you can e-mail me at dixiedeb1960@yahoo.com

You really dont have to do situps or crunches. But what you do have to do is walk lots everyday or even run. But if I had to pick I would say if you are doing crunches you should do about 50 of them but if your doing situps you could do sets of about 25 each.! REMEMBER TO EAT HEALTHY !!!!!!!!

The best excercise ever is the thingy at the gym where you can do pullups on! You can put your elbows on the pad,and lift your legs up and down..that gives you the best results. You will feel the results..
