hello, my name is Troy, and i'm getting married next year to my girlfreind Krissy, who I've been with for about 2 years now. we've been planning to get married for a year, and we're getting married once she graduates, i'll be in college, finishing up my first year. I just want to know if anyone else supports young marriages. And dont try to change my mind, i dont believe love has no age set. I just want to know if anyone else supports it. We are doing it for the right reasons, all we want is to spend the rest of our lives together, we cant go more then a day or two withought talking to eachother, and we cry whenever the other has to go home. please, dont critisize me, just tell me if you think young marriage is ok.

I support your decision to a point. It's great that you feel so strongly about each other, and that you've thought about this. I don't really oppose young marriage, but when one or both is right out of high school, I kind of do. It's like, she hasn't had a chance to live in the real world yet, you know? Personally, I think you'd do better off with a long engagement lasting until you both graduate college, and then try marriage. But since your mind won't be changed, congratulations! I hope you two have a happy life together.

I won’t try to change your mind Troy, but be advised. Marriage is not just a bed of roses. It takes a lot of effort and commitment to make it work. Difficulties WILL happen, but a strong love and commitment will help to resolve the issues that arise. Men and women think differently and it takes time and effort to understand those differences. Patience, communication and adaptability are vital for success.
Knowledge alone is not enough for success. Wisdom comes with age so the longer you wait to be married; the more likelihood for success. Still, that doesn’t mean you can’t make it work. My advice is to wait till your late 20’s or early 30’s, but I have seen successful marriage started in their teens.
You sound like an intelligent couple and are in love. If you can both sit down and find common ground for problems, then you will do fine.
I wish you the best.

Well dude....I would highly you 2 at least live together first. This is the true test of living together, putting love aside, and dealing with life's responsibilities as a pair. You are no longer an individual....so try living together first to get some idea of what it might be like.

When you turn 30....you have the responsibility to pass this info on to another young couple that thinks that love is all their is to a successful marriage.

I understand how you feel. I felt like that for over 4 years. I just hope that feeling lasts for you, although it didn't last for me.
