i have been with my boyfriend for 2 1/2 years is it time to get rid of him or what?

That all depends on you. Is he treating you badly? If so, talk to him, tell him you'd like him to treat you better. If he refuses, leave. Are you bored in the relationship? If this is the case, go ahead and talk to him about it. Tell him you'd like to try something new and different, something really fun. Plan a really fun date or something, ask him what he thinks about it. If he gets mad about that, then he's probably not right for you. However, you should think about your motives for thinking about "getting rid of him." Is it because you're bored, or is it just because its been so long? Are you scared of further committment? If that's the case, you need to find someone that will talk these issues through with you. So think carefully before doing anything. He could be "the one", and I'd hate to see you throw a relationship that has lasted so long away. Good luck!

If you still like him that HECK NO! why would you break up with him after 2 1/2 years? He may be the guy you want to end up marrying. Does he seem like he wants to break up? just because you've had him awhile doesn't mean you should break up with them. Some people date for 5 years before getting married! But yes, if you don't like him anymore and have no "spark" left between you, gently tell him you wanna break up.

If you don't like him, then "get rid of him" but doesn't that sound a little harsh? If you still like him though, keep him. WOuld you want your next bf to "ged rid of you" because you dated for a while? I know I wouldn't want that to happen to me.
