Assuming you have the time, keep on straightening. If you use heat (like a straightener or blowdryer) on your hair every day or on a somewhat regular basis, you should use a protecting spray or other product so that your hair is not damaged. Contrary to popular belief, you CAN safely straighten your hair or apply heat in a way that will not harm it or have any negative effects. Try this: http://www.ciao.co.uk/Alberto_V05_Miracle_Mist_Smooth_and_Silky__5645776
just google it to find a place to buy it online. If you don't really want to order it and wait for it to come, check out whatever store you usually buy your shampoo and other hair products from. Look for words like 'thermal protecting' or 'heat gaurd'. If you have a little extra money, ask your hairstylist if she has any suggestions. Anything that you buy through a salon will be higher quality but also higher price. Look for a mist or spray if your hair is fine or needs volume, and a serum if your hair is thick or frizzy. good luck =)

you can get a curling scrunch spray. Pantene makes one. I think aussie makes one too. Pretty much all the brands of shampoo have a curl scrunching spray. What I do is spray it on while its wet, flip my head over and scrunch it with my hands. Then you just let it air dry on it's own.
While you blow dry it you could also invest in a round wooden brush (metal round brushes heat up too much and damage hair) You can spray a heat protectant spray on your hair and then start from the scalp with a piece of hair (about two inches wide) and brush down. Make sure to hold the blow dryer facing downward and follow the brush down the hair shaft. This will also straighten it as well. It's hard to explain it in words without pictures. Next time you go to a stylist you can ask her to demonstrate how to straighten it with a blow dryer.

straightening is practically the same thing as blow drying.. there both unhealthy.. if you straighten everyday like i do , get your hair cut often to get rid of split ends, and use a special conditioner that will help prevent split ends or something like a special Dove shampoo for damaged hair.

buy some kind of streightening syrum. you put it in before you blow dry your hair. when you dry it, flip your head down. when it is almost dry but still a little damp, flip it up, part it the way you want, then brush through it while drying the rest. when you're finished, take a curling iron and lightly bend the ends (only if you have layers) it should stay streight.

you can chemically straighten it. Use a perm, with no rods. Apply solution and comb thru hair until straight- you can try the straightener on it if it says apply heat. After desired time- rinse and neutralize.

umm... staightening is not good to do everyday but. maybe try and flip it up or under! But it really depends because sometimes it doesnt look good on people. Try crimping it. its really cute with short or long hair. either a few layers on top of the whole thing never in between!

I had the same issue and had to grow out my hair. It takes time but is worth it... When your hair grows out it will actually weigh down your hair making it hang better and actually easier to straiten. Until then hang in there with a few more pony-tails a week and give you hair a little break. :)
