Childlike is innocence not ignorance. Ignorant means foolishness. One know nothing. But innocence means one is intelligent, but choose to be simple. Children are naturally innocent. But they are no really happy. Everybody knows that childhood is tough. Everybody feels helpless there. But we grownup can be happy by becoming consciously innocent as child. By ignorance one gets nothing.

Who says you shouldn't?
Look into Taoism. A childlike state is not looked down on there at all.

Childlike,as in, full of wonder, joy,love,peace,forgiving,trusting,carefree....etc. All the wonderful things you have before the rotten people that are in this world,steal it away.

First of all, one cannot revert.
Secondly it is Gods wish for us to eat of the tree.
That's why Adam and Eve in their perfection made the right choice.

I can't think of a better reason to embrace religion...
In fact I can't think of any other reason apart from embracing child-like intelligence and intellect.
