No longer than normal. It's called a country mile because it is normally along winding lanes which makes it seem longer.
Donkeys years is a pun on donkeys ears which are long.

I think the idea is that a country mile is longer. It's meant to be vague, the idea being if you ask a local they're liable to say anywhere is just up the road, when in fact it can be a fair hike.

a country mile is the length it takes to get up the hill and down the hill, for instance, as the crow flies the distance might be 0.5 miles, but walking up and then down it will be 1 mile, i hope that makes sense
