I went to a church that really discouraged guys from going out with girls and discouraged them from thinking about girls and liking them, in fact they would even try to tell teens that they were sining if they liked a girl because it was lust. I don't share those stupid feelings about teen relationships but I was wondering what you think about that.

I dont think that they are discourging you from going out with girl but it seems that they are a little over pretective. They just think that guys are uncontrolable and would get a girl pregnant. Part of what they are saying is right though, lust is not love it's a crush. Lust is what happens when you fall for a girl just by looking at them rather than knowing them.

that's not right. i'm religious and it says nothing (that i know of) in the bible about not being able to go out with girls. you just can't have premarital sex or do anything that would possibly lead to it- no oral sex, feeling areas, sex toys, masturbation, etc. if you like a girl it is NOT sin, but God states that if you lust after another then in your heart you are an adulter. but there is nothing wrong with seeing girls, kissing and such. but being religious, like devoutly religious then you should read the bible because that would answer a lot of your questions and switch churches because they are giving you false words that are not stated in the bible which is Gods law and thats what matters.

Every religion has its own beliefs, you need to find one that fits yours. Personally having crushes is all apart of growing up, and if you start telling children that having a crush is a sin then they will grow up with some seriously confusing emotional issues on relationship. When will churces learn that oppression will only make people rebel???

Maybe you miss understood them somewhere. This is why I always reading my own King James Bible. If the pastor say something I don't think it's right I will look up myself. I never total trust someone else tells me about the word of God. When I can go get His word myself.
