Simply hold the rabbit by its back legs. When it calms down, the sharp chop to the back of the head quickly and humanely dispatches the rabbit with no muss, no fuss.

The wack in the back of the head is the way that rabbit farmers do it.

Hey Deirdre your favorite pizza toppings include bacon and pepperoni. Do you realize when you eat these you are responsible for an animal dying. Maybe you should think twice before you leave dumb comments (hypocrite)

Hey sweet you are no better talking about where to get shoes made out of leather. Sure go vegetarian that is morally superior. You can kill animals for shoes but not to eat.
This guy is asking about a humane way to kill animals. You two don't care how the animal is killed as long as it is not a bunny.

You want to be careful to not bruise the meat or break bones that you are not intending so as to have the meat intact and not bleeding.

Try this method. Pick up the rabbit around the waist using your left hand middle finger and thumb in a circle. The rabbit's head should now be angled downward. To kill the rabbit use your right hand and place you thumb at the base of the skull and reaching over the head wrap the rest of your fingers under the chin. With a grasp on the head now let your left hand slide from the waist down to the legs as you extend the animal. When you have full extension push at the base of the skull with your thumb and quickly twist the head with your right hand. This method will dislocate the neck. Now hang the animal and bleed out as usual.

Just snap it's neck or shoot it with an air rifle in the head. Check your state laws first though it might be illegal to trap rabbits. Hear in Ohio it is illegal to trap them unless you have the proper permits other than your regular hunting licence. You also can't shoot rabbits with any rifle in Ohio. You have to use a shotgun to hunt them hear.

And for all you who are complaining about hunting animals for food just remember the nex time you are eating anything that has to do with meat it was living at one time. If you don't like hunting think about this if the animal population grows out of control and is over populated it results in disese. For example in area where deer are over populated Chronic Wasting Deisese is spreading this results in deer suffering and can spread to humans if it gets out of control. If you don't like hunting don't come to the hunting section to answer questions.

rabbits are fragile and easy to kill If I am hunting and wound a rabbit I quickly grab the rabbit by the back legs put his head on ground and put the edge of my boot sole between shoulder and head and pull sharply this will dislocate head and neck. when you trap like you are doing it is the same as hunting, you want to kill the animal as quickly and humane as possible.

Shoot them in the head with a .22 or an air rifle. It will kill them immediately and will have little pelt damage. I would also check your state wildlife regulations and see if rabbits are legal to trap. Here in Ohio they are not, unless you are granted a nuisance permit. Be sure you get trapping permits or fur taker permits that are required or you could be heavily fined.

I wouldnt worry about getting caught killing a rabbit. Unless you have neighbors that hate you. But anyway an air rifle with pellets would work best no noise + a quick kill.

please dont listen to that *** who said drown them, that is not humane. I used to trap rabbits with my grandfather when i was a boy, he used to grab them, careful though, trust me a rabbit can be a vicious animal when your hand gets in the way, grab them and snap there neck, it was always quick and we didnt lose much meat.

Shoot them in the head with a .17 to vacuum out the brains, use a .22lr for less mess.
