if you were in to a girl and ya was talking and later you found out how old she was and she was 16 and you were 18 would you still talk to her or would not talk to her any more?
I never lied i just didnt tell him how old i was! And im not a little kid either!

16 is illegal in most states for an 18 year old guy.

From a legal standpoint:
The statutory rape laws are different in every state. In North Carolina, the cutoff age is 16 and the year difference if under 16 is 2 years, so he should be ok.
From an emotional standpoint:
What matters is your maturity level, this isn't a negative or postive thing, when you're older you have different goals, when you turn 18 you're at least a Senior in high school if not a freshman in college. You being thinking about what to do with your life and some long term goals. You may or may not be at that point. But if I were in the situation I would have to re-evaluate whether I wanted to be with a person that much younger than me at that stage of my life. It certainly wouldn't be a deal breaker though. When I was in high school, my limit was 2 years, I wouldn't date anyone more than 2 years younger or older than me.

It is hard to tell someone younger how meaningless relationships are when you are still maturing. I never listened to advice from older friends and relatives but looking back, they were absolutely right. I chose to ignore their input because I was selfish and their advice was not the answer I was looking for. When you are 22-27 you will realize that your fling at 16 was very insignificant and you will wish you had not waisted time on it. At 16 you should be worried about your education and people skills more than a guy who is 18. I know it seems like a huge deal what he thinks of you, but just be honest and focus on yourself. If he sticks around, then he was worth it. If not, it will give you more time to work on important things like your grammar and in 5 years you won't even remember his name. In addition, everyone in here seems to be talking about the legal side of things. That would only matter if you two were having a sexual relationship. If you are sleezy enough to be in a sexual relationship and don't respect your body, it won't matter what advice you get until you respect yourself enough to wait until its apropriate for sex. 16 is not an age that kids should be engaging in sex. The people who disagree with that are the same little tramps that are, or have had sex that early in life. Chances are, if they are mature and honest, they regret having intercourse that young. In closing, no sex, no age problem. If you are sleeping with him, you have bigger problems than his age and its time to start respecting yourself.

At 16 you ARE a little kid in the eyes of the law. but then there is no law against talking that I know.

There are lots of problems with this. He is just protecting himself. If anything should happen he can be charged with all kinds of various child protective issues (you might be mature but you are not legally an adult). It doesn't matter if you consent or not, if you're parents object he is in trouble. Stick with your age for now, two years isn't that long of a wait.

at 18 there was the 2 year rule...16 wasn't an issue...if now, however, that would be a very big issue.
