My husband is a C-130 pilot with the Air National Guard. Does anyone have any advice about how he could become an active duty pilot with the Air Force? We are not even sure if it is possible with all the cutbacks, etc. Thanks!!

All he has to do is put in a P.A.R. (Personal Action Request ) asking for a transfer from the Reserves to active duty Air Force.

he has already completed all of his training so have him talk to an active duty recruiter. I did the same thing 7 years ago and it was very easy. The only thing is he might not be able to hold the same rank until he completes active schools, I.E. I had to go through basic non-commission officer school.

This is something he would have to work on. He'd first have to talk to his superiors about it to see if they'll let him go......then he'd have to find a unit that would accept him. This is what I understand.....I'm sure there's tons of paperwork to fill out. Now is the time for him to start this off. Best of luck to you, and him.

Ask President Bush!
He was a reserve/guard pilot during Vietnam.
