You are supposed to put each bite or spoonful of food close to your mouth, then softly blow on it. Alternatively, you can wait a few moments until the food has cooled.

If she is blowing on her plate, and her breath is going all over the table, that's definitely bad manners, as other people probably don't want her germs on their food.

according to proper etiquette it is in poor taste to blow on your food. you are supposed to wait until it is cool enough to eat. also, when eating soup you should dip the soup onto the spoon away from yourself and not toward yourself which just seems like the instinctive way to do it!! at least your wife isn't blowing her nose at the table, is she?!? then you would have something to complain about!!!
