Water to fish is same as air to man. So probably fishes think we are 'dry' rather than they being wet.

you should ask the aliens.
fish do not know they are wet because they lack human brains and being under water to us, is to them their natural habitat. they cant tell the difference.

They undoubtedly perceive the space they move in, they would have to to successfully move, eat, and breed, but it would be far from the idea of water as we understand it.
