Oxy moron, I know.

I believe in God, I believe that Jesus was a real man of God. I accept scientific studies, and believe that God's creations is so great it lead to the evolution (proven). I believe that the bible is of God, but I don't believe that these are 100% factual stories but that they are lessons to be learned and symbolic or poetic. Can I still call myself Christian if I still Love people, do unto others as I would have them do to me?

Logic is a great thing, but it can't take you beyond what we have provable knowledge of.
The Christian faith requires us to accept that there are things beyond our knowledge, that we are only given a glimpse of.
That is what disbelievers have a hard time with. But, its part of faith.

The Bible is God inspired word.
John 1:1. In the begining was the Word. The word was with God and the word was God.
God doesn't waste His time. If He didn't think we didn't need to hear it for some reason, He wouldn't have had it written. History has a way of seeming pretty far fetched much of the time and that's what much of the Bible is: history. So that's probably why it's hard for you. But, hang in there, you'll reap benefits.
See last bit of the book of Revelation. Essentially THE END of the Bible.
It's the real deal!

Truth is logical. The Bible teaches truth. But that doesn't necessarily mean religions do. It's ok to question the things people who claim to be Christian believe in, and do. True religion also is compatible with true science, archeaology, and makes for a better society. The important thing is doing things the way God wants us to, not humans, because He should know best how best to live right? 2 Tim. 3;16, 17 says "All scripture is inspired of God, and beneficial for teaching, reproving, setting things straight, that the man (or woman) of God may be fully competant, fully equipped for every good work."

A TRUE Christian can not SIT on the fence, be lukewarm, or have a wavering faith.

Must believe in God's Word as the inspired word of GOD
Must be earnest and eager for the truth, and desire to learn more.
Must be strong in the Lord and the power of His might.

Ephesians 4:4,5,6

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth.

God Is the Father
God Is the Son
God Is the Holy Spirit

One Divine Nature with three persons.
They dwell and work together and They are separate and work apart from the God-head.

We can only choose to believe in and obey GOD or the Devil !

We can not serve both. and be TRUE Christians.

GREAT QUESTION!

This has been my struggle all my life, and I'm old.
I have decided I am a Christian as I do believe Jesus is the Son of God sent to save us from our sins. I have also decided we do not know exactly how it all happened but God has done it.

The false prophets of "our time", Jim Jones, David Koresh, and I'm sure many more, demanded their followers follow them to death, Jesus died so we may live, both now and when we die and Pray God, our souls go to Heaven.

science explains natural phenomina
the bible explains our purpose and how to achieve salvation in Jesus Christ. I believe
Both are needed in order to live a complete life. Yet, salvation is the most important think we should be concerned about. In the bible, God warns us not to be preoccupied with things that we don't understand, but to trust in Jesus.

To be logical you would have to be brutally honest with yourself about the intellectual credibility of the fundamental doctrines of Christianity. If you were brutally honest you might find that you could no longer believe Christianity was credible. In my experience Christianity doesn't bear up to logical scrutiny.

Somehow, I think of honesty as a christian value. Which should you believe: Creation itself or a story about Creation?

I don't think there are any strict rules for being a Christian. I think its: if you believe that Jesus died and rose for you, your in. Anything else doesn't matter cause your saved by grace!!!!! Throw all the 613 commandments in the toilet and go by your gut!!!
