why r dogs colour blind its not fair i just wanna know y its strange!!!

Recent scientific research indicates that dogs aren't completely color blind. But dogs apparently lack ability to distinguish green from red.

Dogs see two diiferent colours (blue and green) whereas humans see three (green, blue and red). All the colours we see are a combination of these primary colours so whilst a god sees colour it is a different view to ours. The reason they only see two colours is that they only have 2 types of cone cell in the retina rather than our 3 types. Each type of cone cell responds to a different colour (wavelength) of light.
Dogs see better than us in the dark because they have a greater proportion of rod cells than humans. Rod cells detect light intenisty rather than wavelength which is why they are effective in dark conditions.

Dogs do not have the same rods and cones so they do not see the same spectrum as do people. See the chart below for a "dog's view".

You can see that dogs do not see just black and white. They do see better at night than humans.

I like to think that they are not, and until a dog tells me otherwise I will continue to do so.
