Well its tough to remember my youngest is 6 now, but i started to think about it about 18 months. Luckily they both were good, but i think girls are quicker than boys. MY first was quicker to get the hang of it, and my second still had accidents even in school at 4 and a half. Start to think about it at 18 months buy a potty and put it in your lounge. Dont move it up to the bathroom till they have the hang of it, even then expect a little accident. It also needs taking out, yes it was a pain but i took the potty.

Girls seem to be easier to potty train, but saying that I have known of a 5 year old girl who wasn't fully toilet trained. Every child is different but they get there eventually.
