Well, I'm not sure what type of living situation you have, but if I were you, I'd go to my landlord or super and see if maybe they can talk to your neighbors about keeping it down. Ask your landlord not to reveal who you are and see if they can talk to your neighbors in a general manner such as 'some tenants have complained' versus 'the tenant in the apartment below you informed me that...etc. Hope it works out.

I would slip them a sealed note explaining the situation and let the notes get a little more graphic each one you have to send till they get the point.
On a side note...they may actually KNOW that they can be heard...for some that's part of the thrill...just a thought...

I haven't read the answers but what my ex-wife did was "mimic" the voices before getting a broom and knocking holes in the ceiling above. But after that the noises subsided, but it made me kinda you know what. Yes we did, and did screaming on our own.

They have special tapes/cd's for people like that.
You know, one's that have no concern for other's--play music loud, overly loud lovers who like to make a lotta noise becoz it might turn them on strangely knowing that other's can hear them, or problematic neighbors who argue constantly scream and shout
*Look online for cd's that make loud noises like
airplanes
Trains
Crying babies
(sorry I forgot the name--maybe someone can help me out here who knows the name of this AWESOME irritating noise tape/cd--as my best friends twin sister got it and played it LOUD to her boistrous, bombastic neighbors as a "gift' right back at them LOL

If you know the address, maybe you could drop them an anonymous note, telling them the problem and if it persists, you'll have to speak to the manager about it. ( if its at an apartment complex.) The only other alternative is to speak to them personally or go ahead and report it to someone else who might be able to do something about it.

Get a broom and bang on the ceiling or go up and knock on the door and ask if you can join in, they'll get the message.

Make it known that you can hear them. They probably don't know. I'd yell loudly I can't sleep with all the moaning from my neighbors. Believe me, they wouldn't want you to hear them
