Cleaning Dentures With Bleach

The bleach cleans your dentures better then anything else you can clean them with, buttttt......do not soak them all night, they come clean in less then an hour. I brush mine every night with a regular denture tooth paste and that is sufficent. Maybe once every 3 months or so, I put them in 1/4 cup water and 2/3 cup bleach for an hour or so. They come out spotless. Have been doing this for over 20 years and they still look like new and still fit just like they did 20 years ago.

I defiantly would not use bleach at all. Besides bleach will weaken your dentures that I am sure you paid quite a bit for. Those basic tablets (You can buy them really cheap just about anywhere) that you toss in water and soak them over night should be fine. For those stubborn stains, scrub with a little whitening paste and a brush.

Dentist offices use a professional tarter and stain remover and put them into an ultrasonic cleaner. You can't buy it in a store. You can buy denture cleaner in the store though that will work fine. DO NOT use bleach on your dentures. That will damage them beyond repair. That is one of the harshest things you can do. Don't use listerine on them either, that will cause them to shrink.

In time the bleach will eat through the dentures. Not a good idea to continue using it.
I use regular toothpaste [ brush them just like when I had all my teeth ] and soak them once a week in peroxide. And it keeps them clean and bright..
