there were 8 on the ark right, how did the build it? they would have to cut down every tree by hand to build an ark the size of a super tanker, how did a guy as old as noah do it, my grandfather is only a young 85 and he has trouble going to the toilet by himself. Note "it was Gods will" is not a valid answer just a cop out.

The flood story is one of the most ridiculous in the entire bible. The funny (or sad) part is that a lot of people point to it to explain geology and fossils.

The logistics of building the ark are unbelievable. First you have to have a design that is large enough to house the people, the animals, food, and water. Next up, you have to design it to allow you to take care of said animals. Finally, the thing has to float.

The building is impossible as well. Like you said, the lumber needed for a project like this would be immense. You would need an army of people to gather the lumber and bring it to you. Also those people would need tools to do the work. Noah must have been one rich guy to pay all those people and get them the tools. The army needed to build the ark is going to be large too. Once again, there is the need of tools and paying these guys. The number of people to do the work is too large to depend on fanatic followers. You are going to have to outsource.

Ok, lets say that they were able to build it. Now you have to stock it. Let the animal gatherers loose. To do the job, you will need to involve lots of people once again. You need the people capturing animals, people transporting, and people taking care of them on the ark. The simple logistics of getting all the animals on the planet is too much. That cannot even be done today. We don't even know all the animals on the planet yet, much less be able to catch a representative pair of each kind. How did Noah find all of them? It would take a lot longer than 600 years for him to do that. Humans have been exploring for a thousand years now and we have not found all the animals yet. How did Noah find and get to the Americas? Strange that him and his gang came here to gather animals and then it was completely forgotten about.

Ok, lets say he somehow gets the animals. You are planning on being afloat for months. You will need lots of food. You will need lots of fresh water. There is no zoo in the world that can last more than a few days without having food delivered for the animals. There is no way to store 100 days worth of food for all the animals. Some will go bad and some is just too bulky. Elephants need about 50 pounds of food per day. Two of each kind times 50 pounds times 100 days. That is 10,000 pounds of food for just two elephants. What about different varieties of elephant? For each kind, you will need 10,000 pounds of food. What about hippos, rhinos, buffalo, oxen, cows, giraffes and other large mammals? Add those guys in and you will soon need hundreds to thousands of tons of food. That is a lot of food and it will need a lot of space on the ark.

What about the carnivores? You cannot feed them hay. You have to feed them meat. Some will pretty much only touch fresh meat. That means you will need animals to feed to the lions, and tigers, and bears (oh my). Those animals will need food too or they will get sick and die before the trip is over. That means even more space is dedicated to the food for the trip.

What about animals with specialized diets? Koala bears need eucalyptus. Hummingbirds need nectar. Time and energy would have to be taken to prepare food for these animals. That means even more people to take care of things. It also means more diversity in the food which means more storage. How did Noah store enough eucalyptus for the entire trip? After a few weeks anything that he cut would have gone bad. Did he plant the trees on the ark? Well then, more work to take care of the trees and more space to keep them.

Ok, you have the food and the animals and an ark. How do you feed the animals? You have to get someone to bring them the food. You will need an army of people to handle this task. An army of people working day and night to do it. Remember, the more people you bring, the more food and space you need to have on the boat. You can't just put the food and animals together. It has to be rationed out.

What about the dung? Animals produce dung. Especially those that are eating alot. That has to be cleaned up and tossed overboard. If the elephants eat 10,000 pounds of food during the voyage, then imagine how much dung. That will take a lot of work and will also require an army. Do you think a zoo operates with 8 people?

Now, lets say that you make landfall on some mountain. You now want these animals to get all over the planet again. All corners of the planet have to be repopulated. Also, you need to make sure that certain species go in certain places. Why was the decision made to put kangaroos in Australia and not keep them in Turkey?

The more you investigate this fairy tale the less sense it makes. Some people will just say "God did it". Well, if he was going to do so much work then why did he need Noah. Why did he need Noah to bring animals? Why was Noah specifically told to bring food? For that matter, why did Noah build the ark? If god was going to do all of the work on gathering, taking care of, and distributing the animals, then why not build the ark too.

That is not that difficult.--He was much closer to perfection, thus probably stronger etc.--It took around 40 years, that is reasonable for such a project Noah died at the age of ....

(Genesis 9:28-29) “28 And Noah continued to live three hundred and fifty years after the deluge. 29 So all the days of Noah amounted to nine hundred and fifty years and he died.”

If you doubt that those were years, note the following breakdown of the time spent in the ark:

(Genesis 8:2-5) “. . .And the springs of the watery deep and the floodgates of the heavens became stopped up, and so the downpour from the heavens was restrained. 3 And the waters began receding from off the earth, progressively receding; and at the end of a hundred and fifty days the waters were lacking. 4 And in the seventh month*, on the seventeenth DAY(my caps) of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ar´a·rat. 5 And the waters kept on progressively lessening until the tenth month. In the tenth MONTH, on the first of the month, the tops of the mountains appeared.”
*Seventh month.” This corresponded to the month Abib (or, Nisan), the first month of the Jewish sacred calendar after the Exodus. Abib corresponded to the latter half of March and the first half of April. See App 8B.

It would be nice on your part to think more about the clarity of the Bible rather than criticizing what you do not know.--And there is no cop out, because it was indeed Jehovah God's will.

So you either believe the most accurate historical record that exists or you don't, is that not simple enough.

In the days of Noah, people lived up to 950 years of age. So Noah was in his youth when he build the Ark. He also had the help of his three sons.
Before the flood, it never rained, so there was a canopy of water protecting the earth from the sun's rays. The air was a lot purer then and it cause people to grow much larger and stronger than they are today.

Well back then humans were probably much stronger than we are today because their genes were less degenerate and were not that far from perfection (Adam & Eve). They were able to live hundreds of years and be healthy somehow. I think it took Noah and his family something like 100+ years to build that ark. Over time our genes have become more and more degenerate so that's why it's hard to imagine people being so old and healthy these days.

The age factor is much different today than it was then. Noah built the ark when he was 600 years old. Noah lived a total of 950 years (Genesis 9:29). So he was comparatively young when he built the ark.

Why are you so obsessed with what Noah did? That's his problem not yours unless your planning on a way to escape judgement yourself. Wouldn't bother with a boat though the rainbow means God's not gonna flood the earth again!
