I have had psoriasis on my scalp since I was about 10. It has gotten really itchy, even with a perscription. Does anyone have it and uses at home remedies that halp control flaking and/or itching? Any advice would be much appreciated!!!!
BTW, I am currently using a topical lotion treatment called Dermatovate that I buy from Mexico due to no insurance (My doctor in the states says it is fine). It works for about 2 days then it gets bad again. . .

Neem oil will fix your scalp, and neem bark capsules will cure you.
Neem oil smells like burned garlic. Use it at night when you go to bed and it is very oily, like olive oil. I suppose if you can sleep with a stocking cap that will help. In the mornings, shampoo with a gentle neem based shampoo. now for the neem bark capsules. take 3 a day for a month, then 1 a day for another month. I am pretty sure you will never have the psoriasis again.
Tea tree oil and tar oil are ok for a little while, but neem really works!!

My boyfriend also has psoriasis and he uses Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo & conditioner along with cream from the doctor and it seems to work if you make sure to put the cream on at night and use the shampoo/conditioner religiously it should really help. Paul Mitchell’s Tea Tree Special Shampoo was touted in a recent National Psoriasis Foundation newsletter in the “It Works For Me” section. The person using it had achieved a total clearing of scalp lesions for about a year.

Try alternating Neutrogena T-Sal with T-Gel. T-Sal should break up dryness(scaly spots) and the T-Gel helps to stop the progression of the psoriasis. I have also used Clobex shampoo and lotion, it helps but you can only use it at the most 2 weeks at a time. Salex shampoo is good too. Neutrogena has tried to switch up their shampoos because alot of people have complained of the way their hair feels after using it. Use it first then you can always wash your hair a second time with your normal shampoo. Hope that helps.

I have had psorasis for about 3 years now. I used to use Neutragena T-Gel shampoo. It has coal tar. It worked for a while and the psorasis went away, but came back. The T-Gel does not work anymore. I am using Denorex. That has coal tar too, but a higher percent of it. I don't know if it is working or not. I read on the internet that aloe vera might work, or apple cider vinegar. On my next paycheck, I am going to buy some apple cider vinegar and use that and see if it works. Good luck with your psorasis.
