Not everyone that says they are a Christian is in fact a true Christian. When you say some of the worst criminals are Christians, well actually they are not. True Christians try to walk in Jesus' footsteps , I know we all make mistakes but if someone is continually being "unchristian" they need to take a long hard look at themselves and get back in touch with God. If someone is spreading hate etc. surely they can't be called a Christian. Everyone must face God one day and He is the one to judge them not us.

I don't know man. God gave us freewill, we are not robots. Even Christians are just trying to get through, you know? Christians make mistakes. Also personality gets in the way, ghosts, misunderstandings, etc. Sometimes they are inarticulate. Being a Christian isn't some sort of magic spell that makes you blameless forever like water on a duck's back. We have to work hard at it. Sometimes, I think, Christians forget the great commision and become pretentious like this is an exclusive country club. That's not how Jesus meant it to be. Take heart, K? Just do your best to represent the faith as best you can. If you see a Christian behaving like that either pray (for the person and the people he is affecting by this negative behavior) or confront him, keep him accountable.

Some people that profess to be Christian are in name only. It's not all there fault, because they have been directed to follow a path that leads into a pit. Meaning if you follow a blind leader and he falls so will you. Most Professed Christians today are on the broad and spacious road that leads to destruction as Mathew 7:13,14 quotes. Other people find out that the Bible is like a repair manual and as they use it , it causes them to put own a new personality. Leaving behind the old personality. This means that they don't fake goodness, but rather they do the best they can considering their imperfections. Try to understand what John 17:3 says as it put us all under an obligation to act. It requires us to take in knowledge if we want life?

In my opinion, some Christians have lost their senses as human beings. I think some believe that we should live EXACTLY as Christ did. However, we can't do that. The world has changed so very much that it makes it almost impossible to behave as Jesus' replica. I couldn't agree with you more when you say that Jesus demands that we LOVE. In my eyes, GOD is love. This is a frustrating issue for me as well and in turn some of it has caused my previous beliefs to be skewed. I think that a reasonable explanation for all of the intolerance & hated portayed by Christians is that they may be taking the words of the bible too literally. Instead, they need to apply the basic principles to their everyday lives. Love yourself, love others and love your life.

I've wondered these things for a long time. Some of the most heinous crimes have been committed by Christians. Some of the biggest racists, sexists and homophobes in the world are Christians. Nearly every person you see in photos of lynchings are "good, God-fearing Christians."
It seems to go with the territory, but I'm not really sure why.

Obviously people do need to be more respectful but I object to your idea of "tolerance." With todays PC crowd that means accepting everything that people do as long as it doesnt personally hurt the one being tolerant and that simply isnt Biblical. Christians always need to stand up for what is right and speak the truth boldly. And if the world cant handle the message of the Gospel then that is ITS problem not ours.

From my view, Christianity is not a name it is an action. this days we call every one a Christian as long as he said he is, but in Jesus time they said the person is Christan when they see him let go every thing and follow Christ. following Christ (christian) doesn't mean being Christ (perfect). however we all are going to be like christ. our model is him since we following him. as you see in this answers in our way we might put different image about Christ to people about our lord. so we have to be care full. IN my Christiane life i learned some thing. when you know Jesus personally and when you just move by hearing about him is different. to be like Christ you have to know him. he is love and his commandments are love to. and the second thing is fear of God, when you have fear of God in your life, then you do things that pleased God not u or society. Jesus is love and i love him :)

That's because there's lots of hate and intolerance in the bible as well as lots of love and wisdom. Fundamentalist Christians vainly attempt to interpret the bible literally and so wind up spewing hate and intolerance. They really believe they're doing what God wants them to do. And if the bible told em so - it must be right.

I've seen the same thing, and I always wonder if these people truly are Christians- if they truly understand what living the Christian life is about.
