wear it curly and always cut curly hair when it is wet! The stylist needs to see how long your hair is when it is curly so they can estimate how much it is going to "shrink" after they cut it. Tell them that you wear it straight and curly too so they can customize a cut for you. Good luck!

I am a cosmetologist in NY, and the best way to cut curly hair is to do so with it wet and curly. The stylist should comb the sections of hair pulling the down nice and tight, and then while remaining a firm hold on the hair pull up, and then cut the desired length off. This is done to ensure that when you are done cutting and the hair is dry that it will not be shorter than expected when dry and curly, because as we all know curly hair will cinch up so to speak as it dries. Never let someone cut your hair dry, as it will lead to more split ends before your next cut, it is far too harsh on the hair. Just make sure you know exactly where you want your hair to lie when it is dry and curly after being cut, but always remember if you straighten it a lot, then it will fall just a bit longer than when it is curly. I hope this helps.

Remember wet hair shrinks when it dries so a trim every 6 weeks should keep it the same length.Split ends don't travel as far up the hair shaft on curly hair so a trim is enough.Leave it curly for cutting and each curl should be cut individually for maximum curl result.
Your hair should be damp, not wet, and sprayed with water during cutting to prevent it drying out.

I've got curly hair too and the best cut I had (in a curly style) was washed, conditioned and cut with a razor. I have also had my hair cut into styles designed for straight hair because my hair is thin and it can easily be straightened. In either case I went with my natural curly look to the hairdresser and explained the situation. Defo get curly hair razor cut though!

Go with curly hair. They need to know how your hair falls before they start. Let them cut it wet, but I suggest having them blow-out and flat iron it afterwards. This accomplishes two things . . .
1. Anyone with curly hair loves leaving the salon with straight hair.
2. They can see any spots where they might have left the hair choppy, you can't tell when your hair is curly.
I just got a color and cut from a new salon. The weather was really humid, so I let my hair air dry. The cut looked good until a few days later when I straightened it. It's so choppy and uneven I'll need to go have another cut before I wear it straight again.

Definitely curly. If you have it cut when it's straight, you'll either find your hair ends up shorter than you want, because the hairdresser has failed to realise how much shorter is when it's curly, or it'll be uneven. Mine isn't equally curly all over, so some parts need to be cut shorter than others so that it looks even when it's dry.

for curly hair, i find that it should be cut wet, dried and then do a finishing trim. this is the best way to get hair that will look the way you intended. the wet cut gives the shape and the dry trim cleans it up. make sure you go to someone who has experience cutting curly hair.

it depends on how you normally wear your hair... if you wear it curly more often, then get it cut wet, like normal. if you wear it straight more, then try cutting it dry and straight so you can see where layers will end up. if you wear it both ways, you should get it cut wet, like a normal hair cut. and if you have frizz problems, dont use a razor, it will only create more!

Come in with it curly, to show your stylist how it usually looks. Tell him/her what exactly you are looking for in your hair cut, what problems you are having, and how much time you have to get ready every day. He/she should be able to tell you what type of hair cut would look good for the shape of your face and etc. Have them wash your hair, so it is easier to cut straight for the stylist. Then have him/her style it so you know how to do it yourself. Feel free to ask your stylist any questions on products etc.
have a nice hair cut!
