*Wait*

Sitting on the porch
Looking up at a palm tree swaying in the wind
Feeling the soft, gentle wind blowing on me
Hearing the sound of traffic
People working
Sweet songs the birds sing

The clouds are grey
the sky is white
the sun is ready
to shine on another country;
sitting here pondering
wishing I was back in IC (Ivory Coast)

All my wonderful memories I had to leave behind
I ask God why should this be
why did I have to leave IC
it was so wonderful there
this is not fair

God shines his light
and whispers in the wind to me:
"I have need of you here.
You might not see it yet,
but I do.
I will give you wonderful memories here too:
the blessings of friends,
excitement and adventure
You might not see it yet
but you will.

Have patience my child, it will come.
Do not be afraid,
I am here.
Don't feel lonely
I'm here.
I always will be."

The wind has stopped
my heart is in peace
I just have to wait and see.

Wow! I love it!! What you wrote is exactly how I felt when we had to move from Ca. to Tx. We had no family here. It was just me, my husband and kids. I felt so lonley at first. But God got me through it and gave me some wonderful friends, a wonderful church, and after 4 years of living here, my husband's parents came out to live near us. God has truly blessed us! God bless you!

It lacks rhythm but A for efforts. If you're into religious poetry, you can read the Masnavi by Rumi. Learn from the best, God-willing you'll be one too.

Peace and Love.
