Since Washington, DC, is not officially a state, then shouldn't DC state tax be illegal?

So don't call it a state tax....call it a city tax, or call it a capital tax.

DC passes its own laws. It's LIKE a state. But it's a city in it's own zone. Cities can pass tax laws, too.

They don't have a "state" income tax.

They have a "district" income tax.
