Well unless she has some wierd virus, I'd say she is having an allergic reaction and benadryl would be a good idea.

It could be shellfish, and I definately would treat her as if she did have a shellfish allergy. Tests for kids are not always accurate and shellfish isn't too hard of a thing to avoid. So I'd say avoid it for a few years with her. (Her next exposure could be deadly)

Provided no other odd rashes or allergic reactions show up, I'd wait to have her tested for it until she's a bit older.

If you do have good insurance and want to get more solid answers sooner, you can go see an allergist and see what they recommend.

Please don't mess around with suspected allergies. See a pediatric allergist asap(not a pediatrician) to find out exactly what she's allergic to and to what degree. Some food allergies seem harmless at first but can progress if not avoided and some eventually become life threatening.
Red dots are a classic allergic reaction to food.

Im allergic to shellfish. I break out in red rash and swell up like a blow fish. She could be allergic but showing different signs from it. Ask her doctor. Everyone has different reactions to things they are allergic to. Good luck.

Red bumps with welts around them and redness where she is scratching. Buy some anti itch cream and give her benedryl. AND DON'T FEED HER SHELFISH. It sounds like hives to me.
Go into her doc and check up on it, she might be prescribed an epipen or epipen jr.

shrimp are not shellfish but she could be allergic to them, or it may be something else causing the reaction....see a doctor....hives can be VERY serious
