Are we picky when it comes to dating?

Question

I'm intraracial and most people have no idea what my racial background is. I often get confused for Italian, Hispanic, Native American, and Asian American. Some women have described me as 'beautiful' or 'unique' that I do not look like my own race at all and they can't distinquish where exactly I am from.

Often times, I feel this makes my dating life easier. I have no problem getting dates or flirtatious behavior from women of all racial backgrounds! However, this experience leaves me in doubt to question the dating scheme that is somewhat prevalent in parts of the world. I noticed a number of famous people like Vin Diesel, Kelly Hu, Russell Wong, Salma Hayak, Halle Berry, Stiviandra OLIVEIRA (Miss Angola), Krista Allen, etc..can have a mixed race (interracial) or same race of mixed ethnicities (intraracial). And the public can be obsessed with the way you look especially if you 'stand' out from the crowd. I often feel it's easier standing out when it comes to dating. Comments?

I want to make sure I understood your question, are you asking if people are picky about the race they date unless the person is multiracial? If so, here is my answer....

Yes, I think people are way too picky when it comes to dating and race. I interracially date and many white men who I have loads in common with will not date me because of my color. However, these same men will complain that they are unable to find 'the one'....it never seems to occur to them that maybe 'the one' is outside of the races they have decided to date. People need to open their horizons.

You are a lucky man, to have such an interesting background. And I do agree that the days of what passed for as "attractive" always meant blond hair and blue eyes...are over. I think you have an advantage when it comes to dating: many, many women prefer someone who doesn't look like every other Joe Blow walking down the street.
Ain't America great, where so many of us have such diverse backgrounds! :)

Yes, I agree. I remember when I was in high school and we had foreign exchange students, the guys would always be all over the girls, even if they weren't particularly attractive. I guess it's just because it is something different...

well if it works for u then be happy about it. im cuban and people usually mistake for american cuz i have blonde hair and green eyes, and im white. and supposly cubans are black. well it works for me too beacuse im very cuaban like in personality but i look better i would say. w/e rocks ur boat. u sound very attractive so enjoy it.

i personally believe in interracial dating i approve it. The crowd shouldnt be concerned with youre dating lifestyle alll that counts is if youre happy with who you are with than thats all that matters.

well yes its easier for someone who stands out but that dont have to be because of what you look like. confidence personality and humour also stand out to people who are not shallow.

i am going to could suck on and admit looks (then personality etc). of direction pick that actual love it isn't hassle-free to locate lol. although i think it exists in spite of the undeniable fact that an excellent type of work and stress is for sale in ones' thanks to getting there.
