THere is no doubt, you know nothing about evolution. Open a damned book, would you?
Not all species "must" evolve. The shark has stayed the same for millions of years,
you only change if you NEED to and you are a successful species...
think. please.
And proof of evolution is EVERYWHERE, if you want to see evolution in action, you can look at micro-organisms, and viruses under a microscope.
And exactly what someone else said: antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria, we have to keep making new antibiotics to keep up with the ....evolution of the bacteria...get it?
And antipesticide resistant weeds and insects are a fantastic example. It's evolution in progress--the roaches eventually started hatching eggs and the new roaches were eventually becoming more DNA tolerant to chemicals.
This is why your ilk had to coin the term "microevolution"--you know, to save themselves from looking like complete fools in the face of factual evidence right before their eyes.
You know, this is actually very easy to understand if you would just try to learn it.

The best example are dogs. The forced, human intervention of breeding to traits for the last 10,000 years of man's association with the wild wolf/dog has lead to many, many varieties of dogs. And they are all still dogs right. Except that a few breeds that have been breed apart for a significant period of time are no longer able to interbreed. They are still dogs but have been breed to the point where they will become different species of dog. Of course this example has only had 10,000 years to work and has not had the amount of time that man has had to become completely differentiated from his cousin the ape, some 6 million years. 6 million years ago there were cats, dogs, horses, elephants, cows, pigs, and a lot of other creatures that were nothing like their modern counterparts and many of those early animals all descended from a common ancestor. Cat/Dogs - Horses/Elephants - Cows/Pigs. Just because you cant see the changes in a few hundred generations doesn't mean it doesn't happen. A good examination of the fossil record show that it does. There may not be a lot of so called missing links for man, but there are other animals that have plenty of transitions examples, very finely differentiated. Go take a good college level course on palaeontology at a real university and get back to me.

Species evolve over a great length of time. The evolve in the effort to survive. If there is not need to evolution, the species doesn't evolve.
Alligators and crocodiles are the perfect examples of this. They have remain unchanged since before the existence of man. Throughout history, after they reach about 4' in length, they have no natural predators. Without the need to evolve, they don't.

I am no scientist - but this is how i understand Evolution to work.
A meteorite hits Earth - it's carrying a bug which wipes out most of Humanity.
However, anyone with green or blue eyes is genetically predisposed to fight the bug and survive. Evolution just kicked in - their genes (breeding) allowed them to live through the catastrophe.
These people breed and produce children, who are likely to have green or blue eyes (evolution). However, a mutation appears, a child with BROWN eyes - guess what just happened EVOLUTION!!!
ALL species are constantly evolving - dogs have not always been dogs, cats not always cats and Humans not always Humans- if we were to survive as a species for 2 million years we will most likely not look anything like we do now.
Just give some balance to this - there are other theories, one of which is creationism. Creationists believe (as far as i understand) that God created all species exactly as they are now. Some people believe that God buried dinosaur bones to mess with our heads and to test our faith.
This is my humble opinion - do not take it as the truth - Educate yourself.

Evolution is opportunity driven in that if there is a food source some animal will evolve that can exploit it. Humans have evolved to be able to exploit a number of food sources and a number of habitates and since we can now adapt our surroundings to cope with changes it is not likely that we will evolve on a physical level although we may evolve on an intelligence level. However evolution is a slow process in most cases so you will not be aware of it in your life time except of course for micro-evolution when small primitive organisms can evolved very fast. We can see this with the evolution of anti-biotic resisting germs

Evolution is not something that's normally noticable in the lifespan of any little carbon unit here on the planet. The only exception is to look at bacteria and insects. Things like antibiotics and pesticides are doing evolution's job in a much, much, much faster way. Now we have things like MRSA (antibiotic-resistant Staph infections) and bugs that can take a whole can of Raid.
Some people assume that evolution has an end-goal. Like evolution can somehow reach 100% and be done. That's not how it works. Evolution is just what happens to species over time. The ones who are less fit to live have a lesser chance of passing their genes on. It's a very simple thing to comprehend, really.

I love this question just because of the examples you use.
1) Humans are still humans. We've not been humans for all that long in the big scheme of things and we are evolving.
2 and 3) Cats and dogs.... Genius. The household pets we are accustomed to have never existed in the wild. They have evolved to their current forms over the last few thousand years - a very short space of time indeed.
Not sure what you expect to happen? Humans aren't going to grow wings in your lifetime... If we were going to grow wings it would take millennia.

Evolution is a process that still continues. Here is one example from today's news:
CHESTER, England — As Christmas approaches, a virgin mother is anxiously awaiting the arrival of her offspring. She's Flora, the Komodo dragon.
In an evolutionary twist, Flora has managed to become pregnant all on her own without any male help. It would seem the timing is auspicious: the seven baby Komodo dragons are due this festive season.
"We were blown away when we realized what she'd done," said Kevin Buley, a reptile expert at Flora's home at the Chester Zoo in this town in northern England. "But we certainly won't be naming any of the hatchlings Jesus."
Other reptile species reproduce asexually in a process known as parthenogenesis. But Flora's virginal conception, and that of another Komodo dragon earlier this year at the London Zoo, are the first time it has been documented in a Komodo dragon.

There are many instances of evolving/adapting lifeforms. Remember, evolutionary change takes a very, very, very, very long time. If you care to look at the fossil record, you will see many examples of `then and now`. We evolve to fill our niche, as does all life. Cats stay as cats, dogs stay dogs, nothing can evolve across the species, ie, mice to rabbits, dogs to lions. Boy , those bloody creationists have really buggered up logical thought processes for so many gullible folk!

BECAUSE EVOLUTION IS NOT REAL!!!!!!! there are so many things wrong with evolution it is quite frankly laughable. For example if it took a million years for something to evolve into something else, what did it do for the million years? if evolution was real (which it wasnt!), what happened when something was in that stage of evolution where it is evolving to different lungs - did it just not breathe for a few million years? or what about when different animals where eveolving different teeth - how did they eat? it's just stupid.
If the world was "millions of years old" then we wouldnt be here because the ground would just be covered in corpses!
and they say the world evolved from a big bang - but what explosion creates something - as far as I know every exsplosion that has ever exploded has destroyed something!
they also say that "they can tell a piece of rock with many layers has been forming for millions of years which proves evolution" but scientists in America have rocks like the ones that evolutionists claim to be millions of years old, which were formed in 3 minutes when a volcano erupted!!
I know that God created the world because it says so in the Bible.
So many things in creation point to God and what it says in the Bible.
For example - women have one more rib bone than men and when God made man, He took a rib from Adam and used it to make Eve.
I could go on forever but what I'm trying to say is that evolutionists only depend on evolution because they dont want to listen to the truth - the Bible. They dont want to listen to all of God's rules because they want to do things their way so therefore they do not want to listen to any part of the Bible - including creation.

The process evolution by natural selection is oh so slow. Many factors can actually reverse the progress.
Evolutionary progress isnt linear.Think of the progress as a tree with many branches ,cats and dogs are but one branch of the tree.humans are on another branch possibly originating from the same ones as other mammals.A new branch doesnt mean extinction of the old.
A cat is still a cat ,yes of course, but there will be many subtle differences over multiple generations ,invisible to all but specialists in that particular field.
