Because God has the right to "play god" with people's lives (that's his job, not yours).

If you see a solution with the least amount of damage, as a doctor, you take it. Like cutting out a malignancy. Some healthy cells may be destroyed in the process, but you have saved the organism from destruction. You are not God, you do not know the alternative.

Because "God", if he/she exists, lives by their own rules. We, people, live by man's rules. Some people are faced wtih the conflict of "God's" and man's rules. They don't wish to go against one, but when they follow another they are doing just that. Going against the rules. If you read the bible, the fictional book that it is, simply assume that "God" is a character with unlimited power. Sometimes that power can go to their head.

A lot of things don't make sense about the bible and "God", but I guess if people believe in them, then that's their thing. I am all for people following after their beliefs as long as it doesn't hurt any one else.

Also, you are talking about the old-God, the one that slaughters children. You have to think of him/her as being a multiple personality. In the new testament, it is a good being, but in the old it is vendictive.

To me, God-Jesus is either a zombie, or a guald (from Stargate SG1)....hehehe

God is just, you are a mere human. All humans have sinned, including Christians, and all are thus sinners.

You would be executed by man's standards, God is perfect and cannot be destroyed.

He created a new beginning by destroying the old.
