Instead of asking her the curious way, why not invite her over your place or just talk to her when you two are alone, and try and be the sensitive guy, ask her how she is since her break up, ya know, just be her best friend, you can get a long way with that.

And as your asking her about her feelings ask her whether she'd ever think about dating again. Ya know, a bit like a girly chat, some women are incredibly open if you listen to them.

And then if she says "aww your such a great listener" or "thanks for listening" well its a start, and just take it from there with the information that you know.

For some strange reason? So she didn't say anything about her ex directly? Or maybe she's just mentioning her ex too often? If that's the case maybe she' s not ready for a new relationship and she hasn't coped with the traumas of breaking up with her exbf yet. BUT if you really like her, why don't you give her a chance... and some time to adjust to a new situation-just be natural, be yourself and that should give her some feeling of safety.

Talk to her about it. If you guys are just friends right now, then it shouldn't really even matter. Make this the test; see if she freaks out or not about the situation or conversation. If she does, then you surely do not want a girl like that who doesn't know how to let go. But if she is really cool about it, then go with it and get close to her and find out why they broke up so that you will know what to expect.

I started dating a girl who was really scared by an abusive azzhole about 6 months after they split, it was hard at first coz she was still messed up-but i knew i really wanted her, shes awesome, now weve been married ten years and have a house, 2 cars, 4 kids and im glad i didnt let anyone else beat me to her, get in their mate before someone else does, or you might lose out to some other guy. She will be over him by now and will sooner or later want a partner, its human nature, make sure its you.

oh......you should talk with her, and explain that you are not good with all this. She may throw a wobbly, but try to think of yourself ...... she is hurting you. I think she would appreciate your honesty............good luck!
