For the pudding I recommend Lemon Lush - I had it once, it was gorgeous.

The main I would recommend chicken as many people won't eat red meat even if they're not veggies. If you are allowed a veggie option, try an onion tart. I'm veggie and I'd eat that.

For the starter how about a cucumber and mint soup?

Why not try a buffet instead...all the wedding I end up at (bar my own) have chicken for a main dish and I am not one for eating an animal when it still looks like you could give it the kiss of life or you are about to do an autopsy, so at least with a buffet you can give people a choice and you may find it cheaper in the long run...we did!

I have been to lavish, expensive weddings, to basic, cheap weddings, and bog standard middle of the road weddings.

The common link between them all, is that the food is always poor when cooking for so many people. So I would suggest that you dont go to too much expense. Maybe a nice simple carvery, with a veggie option.

It depends on what style of food you are going for - buffet, appetizers, sit down, stationed, etc. I say be creative and really make an impression on your guests! Besides the bride, food is the number one item I get comments on.

My sister just recently got married and we decided to go with a Moroccan Theme. We included items like a duck and apricot egg rolls, roasted vegetables and hummus, lamb kabobs and grape leaves. Our family and her friends still are calling me three months later, asking questions and making comments. They loved it! I think its much better then going with the staple grilled steak and potatoes. With all the effort that goes into your wedding - make it something to remember. Email me for the complete menu including signature drink selections and/or pictures.

i might nix the bbq for a fall wedding ceremony. i might like the turkey dinner and make it equivalent to Thanksgiving. perchance no longer mashed AND candy AND stuffing -- perchance get turkeys and have a butcher spiral slice them; or have them smoked or something else a sprint greater connoisseur-ish. Herb dressing/stuffing candy potato casserole green beans almondine Cranberries Rolls or breads yet then...might all of that flatter a usually happening white cake? you ought to get a small classic tiered cake too for celebration purposes -- the reducing of the cake and so on. and particular human beings could have some yet... What in case you had a table of apple and pumpkin pies? yet another thought -- because of the fact it is two human beings won't unavoidably assume an entire meal and fantastically a heavy one. Have the harvest meal yet in small bites. Pumpkin and candy Potato breads sliced up with a cream cheese and apple butter unfold Mini apple and pumpkin muffins. Sliced up smoked turkey and ham with cheese and sliced apples or pears and fancy crackers or toast factors Stuffing/dressing in a fancy serving dish served up with mini ice cream scoops for an appetizer/snack factor a similar sort of factor for mashed potatoes and little ladles to serve up a topping of: cheese sauce; or gravy; or bitter cream with chives jumbled mutually. Apple cider A small table with tea provider -- warm water and tea cups and diverse sorts of tea bags. those are my suggestions and for a 2:00 p.m. reception i think of the mini thought is greater efficient than the full-on heavy dinner. people who're hungry could have approximately as a brilliant number of the foodstuff as they choose and people who choose no greater effective than a snack won't sense overwhelmed. And with the appetizer buffet you ought to nonetheless have a marriage cake and not have or no longer that's overkill. wish i replaced into effective.
