I told a dog owner that was walking her dog near my house to stop letting her dog pee on my landscape. I paid good money for my bushes? I don't think I was rude I think it was her

no you were not rude. i get this all the time too, and i have a dog myself, but I don't let him go peeing and crapping all over everyone else's lawns.

This woman was rude, as i have found many dog owners to be. Oh, and smokers too. I live on a corner with a stop sign, which no one ever stops at, but they sure throw out the cig butts.

If people could just be polite and put themselves in other people's shoes we wouldn't have so many issues in the world.

No - you weren't rude.

A question arises from some of the answers you've received though:
Why are we saying that dog pee is good for bushes, when we all know that girl-dog urine leaves brown 'dead' patches on the lawn, and bushes 'die' at the bottom where dogs lift their leg. If it's good for the growth of bushes as a whole, it certainly doesn't do anything for foliage. If you don't want brown foliage, and brown lawn patches, then tell dog owners to clear off, unless they've got the good manners to not allow their dog on your land in the first place.

NO! I absolutely agree with what you did. I think the dog owner is rude, to say the least, in letting her dog pee on your bushes/lawn...I get so mad when I see people do that . I have a dog and I NEVER let him do that. In fact I was going to call Home Depot and ask if they sell nice little signs to put in my yard....People can be such azz's...

No, dog urine can kill plants. You spend a lot of money for nice landscaping and well the pet owner was rude not you.

Peeing is one thing... dog poop is another. Was the dog not being kept on a leash? You can ask that the neighbor scoop up the poop into a baggie and keep a dog on a leash. Pee, however, is really not that big of a deal.

Not rude at all. I have the same problem with my neighbor. She walks her pitull without a leash in the mornings. I noticed some big "gifts" on my lawn and saw her dog in my yard. I asked her to remove the gifts and put her dog on a leash, since its the law.

No you were not rude if she was actually letting her dog pee on your bushes in your yard. I am a dog owner myself and don't let my dogs relieve themselves in others yard or property.

No, you were not rude. I would report her to the police or animal control if it continues. Keep your receipts for the landscaping and for any plants that must be replaced because her dog piddles on your foliage.

Pee is rude too. You should be able to weed your garden without having to worry about dog doo *or* pee. Besides it's your property. She obviously wouldn't want her dog to do it in her own yard!

No, she reacted the same way anyone would when confronted while in the act of doing something that she knew was wrong. You startled her while she was allowing her dog to do something she knew was inappropriate. If you yelled at her or had a negative tone I'd consider your behavior inappropriate for that type of situation.
