For first time visitors I always recommend Oahu. You can branch out from there.

I would say.........take a cruise with Norwegian Cruise lines, like the Pride of America. you can see all the islands on a seven day cruise. I have lived on Oahu since May, and its great... beautiful beaches, interesting choices of food, lots of tours, etc. But when it comes time to see the other islands, I will choose a cruise. If you are more for relaxation and country, Maui is the place to go (so I have heard).. From Oahu you can take a hop to the Big Island for a short weekend and check out the volcanoes and other places. I have heard its only around $40 at times per person to fly over there. GOOD LUCK!

I agree with the first post. I've been there twice and I'd recommend you spending time at Oahu first. Diamond Head and the USS Arizona are great places to visit there. Then, if you island hop, I'd say visit Kauai and Maui. All of the beaches are great there, but Waikiki is my favorite. Check out Fern Grotto in Kauai. You could always Google the Hawaiian islands for more information and sites of interest. Good luck and Aloha! I can't wait to visit there this summer!

Aloha, and Maui is the best place, for a vacation. The beaches on the west side, like kaanapali, are very safe, and not a lot of surf. The weather on the west side is excellent, as we only average about 14in. of rain a year. Maui is very diverse from Hanna, to Kapalua. There are many things to see and do. Great golf courses, beautiful beaches, fine dining, and tours galore. The whales are in now, and they are awesome to watch. Aloha, and good Luck.

I would have to say Oahu. They have just about everything there, here are some of the things for example:

Dole Plantation & North Shore Tour
Pearl Harbor & Missouri Ship
Haneuma Bay (snorkling)
International Market Place (along Waikiki Beach)
Swap Meet (huge flee market at the Aloha Stadium - costs $3 to get in- well worth the money)
Sea Life Park
Luas (spelled wrong?)
Waikiki Beach - awesome!
The zoo and aquariums
Shopping (Gucci, Macys, Tiffany & Co., and many more- way to expensive for my pocket book but hey it was fun to look!)

Thats everything that we did while we were over there and it was a blast!

I've been to Maui, Kuai, and Honolulu 3 x
Maui is beautiful and tropical, ive stayed at the Hyatt Regancy and the Westin Maui...if you have to choose go for the Western Maui, it's a lot nicer and has a tropical feelin to it, Hyatt was nice too, but not as nice.
Kuai is gorgeous, more laid back, not as commercial, very quite with only relaxation to do
Honoluls is more commercial;people everywhere, but fun :)
I choose Maui

I think the Big island, Hawaii, has the most diverse things to see. The volcano parks and areas are fascinating.
