Hi!

Im not big at all... 5'5 & 130... course its 20 lbs heavier then im usually but I did just have a baby so I have a bit of an excuse... hehe ANYWAYS....

My hubby has surprised me with a Valentines Day cruise and I really want to shed a few lbs by then and FAST! I have decieded to do the 2-4-6-8- diet which I know isn't the best but it will shed pounds quickly... and of course I am running a few miles 4 days out of 7.... here's my question though..

MONDAY - FASTING
TUESDAY - 200 CALORIESCALORIES ( what do i eat? )
WEDNESDAY - 400 CALORIES ( what do i eat? )
THURSDAY - 600 CALORIES ( what do i eat? )
FRIDAY - 800 CALORIES ( what do i eat? )

SATURDAY & SUN - 200 CALS

Can you help me by giving suggestion on what I should eat each day that would amount to that many calories?

Thanks!

Do not do it. If you are active (running every other day qualifies), then your body needs a bare minimum of 1,200 calories to stay alive. The diet plan you have proposed is borderline anorexia. You may permanently damage your organs and body on this plan.

First of all, I am 5'5" myself and that sounds like a healthy weight. Then again, there are problem areas we ALL have, no matter what the scale says or what our spouses say (which, I would like to congratulate you on landing a spontaneous, romantic one!). I wouldn't worry about losing weight, but probably toning up - after all, if you only lose water weight, the fat will still be flabby no matter what you do. Try adding some weight lifting to your routine and concentrate on being HEALTHY, not the number on the scale. Doing that, you may find the number going down anyways.

a good balance of lean protein, whole grain carbs, fruit, veggies and healthy fats...

BUT you'd be much better off continuing your cardio and then adding weight training to it in order to lose weight. in about 4 weeks you'll see a difference. pick up a magazine like Fitness or Shape for a weight training routine thats easy to follow. i am telling you this because the more lean muscle mass you have the more fat your body burns at rest (i.e sleeping, watching tv, sitting at your desk at the office all day ect.) remember to use weights that challenge your muscle (feel the burn) but not ones that leave you in agony after the workout. 30 minutes, 3X a week would do.

with this diet you are sabotaging your metabolism. without enough calories (1200 a day) you're body goes into starvation mode and begins eating up all good lean muscle mass but also the fat and i suppose that's where this kind of thing would be attractive to you.

Just eat right, stay away from foods that are high in the bad fat... fried foods...junk foods....fast food joints..... Go on the web, look for a diabetic web site. Lots of good food and all are Heath for you.

CRASH diets are bad for your internal organs.

Please dont do the extreme calories diet.....Eat small frequent meals, especially if you are running or exercising, your body will need the energy. Eat smart, fruits and veggies, whole grains, and low fat milk and cheese.

Good Luck
