It could be that subconsciously you're afraid of putting yourself out to find a date.
Online dating sites like Yahoo Personals, Matchmaker.com, eHarmony, etc. are a very good way to meet people today. I met my current Wife on eHarmony over 3 years ago after dating over 2 dozen women in 6 months. All of whom I met online.
