It sounds like his neck is just popping. If I shake mine from side to side it does that. But I do agree that you should change doctors if you don't trust the one you currently have.

never feel like your bothering your doctor with something that "might be nothing" when it comes to your children, you have to be on the "safe side" so what if its nothing..... big deal, go home... but what if it is something, and the sooner its taking care of the better?? I made the mistake of doing this with my daughter when she was young, she kept getting fevers and i would bring her to the doctors over and over again, they would tell me the "virus needs to run its course". well she ended up having lymes disease. So please, if your questioning whether to go to the doctors or not.... GO.......

It's probably just a joint popping. Is he growing? Sometimes joints loosen up in a growth spurt. Unless it hurts him I wouldn't worry about it.
And get a new Dr if you don't trust the one you have.

You need to find a new doctor... one you trust. The knocking sound sounds a little weird... I'd get it checked out.

You need to feel confident with your dr and hv. I would change. Also better to have checked, you shouldn't worry about disturbing them, that's what they're there for.
Good luck

my sons joints used to click when he was little, but he has grown out of it now. I would go to the doc's just to ease your mind.
