Here, you can't miss more than 10% of the semester. So if the semester is 90 days, you can't miss more than 9 days in that semester. If you are absent all 9 days for the fall semester, you may still miss 9 more in the spring. In other words, even though you can miss a total of 18 days (assuming that there are 180 days), you can't have them all in the same semester. Anyway, that's how it is here.
