How does having hope of something unknown equate to weakness?
It seems to me that people who are confident in their own beliefs and don't feel the need to resort to tearing down others to make themself feel better aren't the "weak" ones....

Children develop imaginary friends. Some adults do too. The fact that some of the people above have claimed science and reason are the enemies of religion just shows how fatally weak and terribly implausible the whole concept is.
The wind analogy is flawed. I can prove beyond reasonable doubt that the air moves, using recording instruments and similar experimentation. The 'wind' is merely a construct used to describe the shuffling and movement of air particles due to temperature-induced pressure changes. Saying that God exists is not like saying the wind exists; it is like saying that the wind is controlled by a magic being. God is a useful tool for the ignorant in that he offers an alternative to saying "I don't know how that works," or "I don't yet have an explanation for that phenomenon." Saying that an unquestionable, divine spirit is responsible for lightning strikes or the apparent motion of the sun gets us nowhere.
Quite bluntly, if God really existed, wouldn't he have made his existence patently obvious to everyone on Earth, rather than only to those who do not understand logic and reason?

People are not weak, they just know better than people who don't know better, if you know what I mean. If you look into the early history of America, you will find that the main reason this country is so powerfull was because it had many God fearing truths built into it. People are just trying to remove that from our country today because they are running from God or they never knew better. And the only reason God is unproved is because of the corrupted nature of humans, Education is not what it should be today. Before it was God fearing, God teaching, God respecting. Nothing like it is today.

My father had a stroke, was in a coma. had pneumonia.couldn't breath on his on. had a resuscitator, very erratic eeg.the . Doctor told mother there was no hope. after nine days I got on the floor and prayed over and over, God your going to heal my Dad I heard a voice. Go Rub His Feet. I got up. five hours had passed.? didn't seem like 3 minutes? I drove up there to the hospital and rubbed his feet. he raised his foot up, and I turned and he was pointing at his foot. and his eyes were open,he was out of the hospital in 4 days.the doctor told mother that this was a miracle as a nurse had walked in and told me not to rub his legs because it could cause blood clots and I told her that God had told me to rub his feet and I was his son and took jurisdiction here and to leave the room.Dad lived well for 11 more years,he had a little memory problem and talked more then he used to. I could tell you his name and the hospital and when this happened.if you e mail me.if you wont to check it out.Now if this wasn't God .telling me to rub his feet.who was it.?maybe a dead relative? an angel? a spirit of some kind?I dont have any idea really. except I know what happened.and I appreciate God helping my Dad very much. And I will add that I beleive in God and his spirit very much. all my people do. and the spirit guides me in most things I do.Gods spirit cant work thru people who dont have faith. faith opens a person to the workings of the Spirit.Peace. I wish you the best.

Does the fact that of all the categories here, you've chosen to come into the Religion & Spiritual section show how really hard you are? Maybe there's something deep within you that wants to believe. If you truly are atheist then go to atheist groups/forums to enjoy yourself. And as for calling people weak, the founder of christianity allowed Himself to be nailed to the cross alive for his beliefs...now that's HARDly a weak gesture now.

People are not weak. People believe in an unproved, invisabile being known as god because people are afraid of the unknown. We would rather believe in something that is not proved then think that when they die they are going to fade into nothingness. We are afraid of death and wish to cling to some desprate hope that this is not all for nothing.

You need to understand that your belief that God doesn't exist doesn't mean that belief is indeed a fact. You also need to understand that your definition of people who DO believe in God as being weak is simply your opinion, nothing more. Simply stating that people who believe in God are weak doesn't mean they are weak.
You also need to brush up on your grammar - it's unproven, not unproved.
People like you really get on my nerves. I have respect for the beliefs of others, even when they oppose my own. Why is it so difficult for people like you to do the same?

God is real, always has been, always will be...you don't wanna believe that's fine, but prove you won't be burning in hell for your wicked ways and then you can say anything you want about God not being real...now, I have a question for you...do you believe that wind exists...more than likely you do and yet you can't SEE wind, but you believe it's there because you can see the results...that's why I believe in God...I can see the results! Have a good day!

Until this present time all people believed in some sort of God. Today many do not believe in any God. I do, and I do not believe in a fairy story. Do a degree in theology, even an atheist can do that one . You might even enjoy it. It covers many subjects in life.

Through our weakness, Christ becomes stronger in our lives and that is where our infallible joy and happiness comes from. It is His strength that we become stronger with godly wisdom. We can also endure trials and hardships in a better way than people without Christ can.
God's word says:
Without God nothing is possible.
I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me.
