I remember once seeing a little calendar type thing that showed if you filed by this day you would have your refund by that day (electronic filing). Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

If you e-file your return there is a calendar which shows when the IRS sends your refund, with no guarantees of course.

Refunds are sent on Fridays for returns accepted by the IRS by 11 am on the Thursday of the previous week. So, if your return is accepted on Thursday morning, you should can have your refund electronically sent to your bank the Friday of the next week, in just 8 days. If accepted on Thursday afternoon, you have to wait another week, or 15 days.

If you want your refund mailed to you, the IRS mails the refunds one week after the electronic release date. It takes an extra week to print the checks and mail them. Plus it takes a few days for the mail to reach you, so 3-5 weeks for an e-filed return.

If you mail in your return, it takes much longer, 6-8 weeks.

Here is the calendar I mentioned:

WARNING: No one can guarantee that you'll have your tax return by a certain date unless you go to H&R Block and they actually give you a loan against your anticipated return. The rule of thumb is ten business days (two weeks) from the day you E-file your return and 3-4 weeks from the day you mail your return, but it takes longer to get your return the closer you get to April 15th, and there's always the possibility that some minor screw-up (like an incorrect bank account number for direct deposit on your 1040 -- been there, done that) or something worse like an audit can hold up your return.

Yeah I believe I do. Your boss has till the 31st to mail out your w-2's...the IRS has a calendar with dates and so does bankrate. If you e-file your taxes, you'll get them in 7days direct deposit after it has been approved. The IRS has a dedicated area that tells you the diffrent scenarios and dates. It's under individual accounts

Answer:
Please wait 7 days after you e-file. If you filed on paper, please allow 4 - 6 weeks for processing of your return.

Yes, it's called a Refund Cycle Chart and you can see one on the IRS website.
