Caribou Coffee is a close second but ultimately Starbucks is the best. I like the Vanilla Bean Frappuccino or the Carmel Frappuccino is also excellent.

I personally think Starbucks coffee tastes stale and burnt, but just write me off as a stupid tea-drinker. :)

That being said, try some Fair-Trade organic coffees. They have unique flavor and usually an increased amount of caffiene in them. They're starting to grow on me.

As for a visit to Starbucks? I'm the lone customer drinking an Iced Chai Latte...

Try the Starbuck's Mocha Macchiato. It is really good. Also, if you want a good Starbucks coffee to buy & brew at home try the Kimodo. It has a slightly fruity after taste.I live in Hattiesburg MS & we also have the Seattle Drip here that is really good. I actually prefer it to Starbucks

North Pole Coffee in North Pole, Alaska. Might not be there anymore, but they could roast and brew a brilliant cup o' joe. I miss the Northwest and the coffee culture, lol!
But for a chain, nothing better than starbucks!
My drink: Venti non-fat latte with 2 raw sugars and cocoa powder.

Most of them. I find convenience stores like QuikChek and 7-11 make much better coffee. Starbucks is ok, but nothing special, and ridiculously overpriced. I believe their popularity stems from the fact that their coffee has twice the normal amount of caffeine.

Chainwise, for elaborate coffee-based beverages, the homogenity of Sbux is very good. Its success has inspired local non-chain stores to produce other quality coffee-beverages, but as they aren't chains, it's kind of pointless to say 'Hey, [local place] is really good.'

As for just plain drinking coffee, though, I'm happy with my TimHo.
