Boy do I know how you feel! I had this problem too. Luckily for me, I have been a member of a Long Hair Community Forum that has the BEST advice for hair care!
For your dry scalp;
First of all, when you wash do not allow the shampoo to come in contact with your scalp. Part of the problem with shampoos is they contain a lot of sulphates, that are fine for a normal scalp but not for a dry one. Another method you can try is CO (condition only). You CAN wash your hair with just conditioner because they contain a light amount of sulphates. You will need to keep the product in your hair a little longer then shampoo to enable the sulphates to pull any dirt and oil from the hair. Rinse very well and for a longer period.
For hair loss;
Go to your local health food store and have a look at the essential oils they carry. As them which ones the recommend. Allot of the EO help to protect the hair follicle and reduce hair loss. Also try to avoid blow drying if you can, don't brush/comb your hair while it's wet and don't rub the hair with a towel when it's been washed.
Good luck!

I had the same problem after having 3 of my 4kids. And each time, more and more hair fell out. I looked like I had a receeding hair line!! And the dry, scaly scalp thing was also a major problem for me.
My hair was everywhere in the house, clogging up the shower drain, like having a few dogs in the house. It was even falling into meals--everyone's meal.
So.....I made a decision to correct the problem.
I buzzed it all off, down to a #2 clipper blade. GI Jane look.
My scalp problem stopped almost immediately and my hair began to grow back in the normal fashion. My "receeding hairline" was gone within 2wks.
I know it's a stretch for most women, but I liked it so much I kept it that way for 5yrs.
Doc can put you on hormones or steroids but bad side effects.

Hi!
Don't worry, this is exteremely common and even the length of time is common.
Your body loses a lot of vitamins when your baby is born, most of it is given to the baby. Your hormones are all over the place so this is very natural.
There really isn't much you can do from it falling, but you should know that it should stop soon.
Your hair will be healthy again.
In the meantime, if its dry, flaky or itchy, then I suggest using a pharmacist recommended Anti-dandruff shampoo, this works wonders. It can however be hard on your hair, so make sure you buy a really moisturising conditioner available at any drugstore or salon. Moisturising hair masks are really good too.
Hope this helps!

I'm also going through this right now. My son is 9 months old, and it's still falling out. As far as the dry scalp, that might just be because of winter. But, if you do have questions ask your doctor. But sounds pretty normal to me. Good luck, and here's to us getting our hair back!

Some women when they are pregnant their hair gets fuller. Then when they give birth it goes back to normal thus hair falling out. Try using a different shampoo for the dryness, and don't panic. The average person looses over 100 hairs a day. I hope that helps and good luck!

Its pretty normal to have hair loss after delivering a baby - its called postpartum hair loss and goes away in a few months time,
The hair loss is because of a sudden change in hormones in your body after having a baby,after your hormones have stabilized your hair are back to normal.Mean while eat healthy foods and rest adequately (important for postpartum recovery),everything will be fine.

Hi most people go through this so dont panic I am having hairfall but mines due to iron deficinecy. My sister had this after Birth too. Carry on taking your prenatals and take some sea kelp too.
Also massage your scalp with warm oil to strengthen it. Its perfectly normal so dont panic. Your hair will grow soon.
