OK, so I just read a post where a woman said she didn't like guys over 30 because many start to bald....yes, I know she's silly and probably a very young girl, but, it got me thinking, I personally started losing my hair at about 18.

I tried everything as a kid to cover it up so the girls wouldn't think I was older, as the years have passed so have those feelings, and now, I'm a beautifully clean shaven man. ;]

But, I'd like to know, how do the women here truly feel about bald men?

This is going to sound cliche, but it's true... Confidence is attractive. Some guys look good bald, some don't, but it doesn't matter. Men are pickier about looks than women are for the most part, but if you keep your body good and carry yourself with confidence, it doesn't matter if a woman has a thing for bald guys or not... she will find you attractive.

I don't think anyone is to judge someone by their hair line. I think a man that is clean shaven and takes care of their head looks really nice. But....when they look like they have the mange they need to start doing something about it. My husbands hair is thinning and I dont know what he would look like bald but it would be something to get used to. I don't feel any different about bald men as I do about men with a head full of hair. A man with alot of hair can look bad too if he doesn't keep it well groomed! Some women just like hair to play with but personally I am not shallow so I dont really care what someone looks like. Except for my appearance at times!

Most young girls don't really like bald guys unless maybe their Dad or another important male they admire is bald?? When they get older though, many women get over that superficial attitude. I've gotten over it. Some bald guys are hot, some are not, just like some full-haired guys are hot and some are not--it isn't a deciding factor for me. I've not really kept in touch with people I grew up with, but every now and again I see someone I knew back when all the guys my age had hair and he is now balding or completely bald and if I thought he was cute back then, I find myself still thinking he is cute sans the hair on his head. Like you said, we grow older silly things go by the wayside. When we mature enough to be able to see that glow of attractiveness that people emit through their eyes, their smile, their speech, their positive outlooks on life, and their spirit, then we grow to know that beauty in people comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, etc.

i've been having a lot of arguments with my man about this. he's 24, and he's got a bald spot in the back that is getting bigger by the day, and even though he's using rogaine, it's not helping much. and now that he has a job where his appearance doesn't matter, he's decided that he wants to grow his hair out to be long while he still has the chance, after a lifetime of only having short hair. now it's about 3.5-4 inches from root to tip, and it looks AWFUL. i keep begging him to cut it short again, because a bald spot looks a hell of a lot better on a clean cut head than a shaggy one, but he refuses, insisting that the rogaine will make it grow back. i've threatened him to cut it in his sleep, but he says that if i do it then he'll completely shave everything off, and he's got a big weird shaped head and it would look just as bad.

anyway, to answer your question, i have no problem with balding men, as long as they take proper care of what hair they have left.

I think a balding man probably reminds a woman of her dad or other older male relative (eww). A clean shaven man looks like a bad boy even though he's dressed conservatively or holds a respectable job. I would imagine this clean shaven man to have a dark side, a secret wildness. This of course is purely superficial to judge a book by it's cover but this is what my first thoughts would be before I got to know the person.

It is a personal opinion. Personally I think it makes them look distinguished. What I don't like is when guys try to hide it- I think it usually looks worse. It is so commen these days, that honestly I do not even notice it on most guys anymore. My husband and his family all have a full head of hair. However, my dad has been balding since as long as I can remember and so I am sure my brothers will start soon. Anyway, to sum it up- there is nothing wrong with it. As far as I am concerned it is just another hairstyle.

I'm 26, my husband is 44. He's bald (but still has hair on his head around the sides). I don't really even notice that he's bald except in the summer when his head gets a sunburn. He's a foot taller than me, so I can't even see the baldness from where I am.

My first older man crush was bald guy. He had a ring of hair over his ears but the top was waxy smooth and he had no comb-over. I was 18, he was 30, so nothing happened. He never even knew how I felt; but he was HOT!

I don't mind bald at all unless the guy tries to hide it. Then it's funny.

I think it's all in the attitude and a self confident guy can pull it off. Most people are superficial. Hair is just 'hair' and doesn't necessarily determine whether someone is attractive. Women that accept dates with you apparently don't have a problem w/your being bald. A well groomed and well dressed guy can be hot w/or w/o hair.

There is absolutely nothing worse than a balding man holding on the the few hairs he has left by letting them grow and combing them over. Embrace your baldness ... a shaved head is HOT !
