from reflux,what is it are my kids at risk?

father inlaw past from barrets esophagus, stomach cancer, then his brother had his stomach taken up to his esopagus and was saved, now his sister has tumors in her. husband has reflux, and my kid has acid reflux since birth I think its genetic? are the doctors missing something?

They are if they are aware of the family history you just described and haven't moved on it. If I were you, I would take your child to a pediatric GI doctor instead of the internist. You can do this on your own...you don't need the pediatrician's permission (unless your insurance is an HMO).
