They can have more health problems. Boxers tend to have a higher chance of getting cancer (don't know why but thats just what seems to happen) and white ones tend to run a greater risk of getting skin cancer. This is just what I have seen and heard from my vet but I dont have any solid proof of this but I have heard my vet refer to Boxers as "cancer factories." I would talk to your vet about any precausions you should take if you get a white boxer. Good luck

Okay, firstly white in boxers is a not even really a color (most still have some fawn or brindle patches) it designates an over abundance of white markings; while albino is a lack of color. Albinos in any breed or species will have more skin sensitivities and be more prone to skin cancer. Our pigmentation is one of the things that protects our skin from the sun.

White in boxers is not allowed in the breeding population because there are risks associated with it. One of these risks is deafness. White boxers are not born deaf but can go deaf shortly after birth. The reason is lack of pigment within the ear canal. I am not a scientist and cannot say the full reasons why but lack of pigment within the ear canal causes the mechanism that senses sound... the little feelers within the inner ear to die shortly after birth. This is from what I have read so far concerning this issue.

That is why white boxers are not accepted as breeding stock. White boxers still can make great pets, including the deaf ones. I had a deaf dog and it just takes extra dilligence and attention but they are still wonderful companions.

ADDED: BTW, I have _never_ heard of a responsible breeder of boxers killing off white pups. White pups are common and make great companion animals. Anyone killing white pups is irresponsible and should not be breeding- - or these are rumors from an archaic time in which such barbarisms were more common.

AFAIK, they are more prone to deafness, eye problems and skin problems.

There is a difference between white and albino BTW. Albinos are even more delicate.

White boxers dont have anymore probs then fawns or others.Their just not acceptable for akc or other regestered pet clubs.thats why alot of breeders kill the white ones.No brains on their parts Im afraid.
