My son, almost 19, always carries this tube, like Chapstick, but it smells like Vick's, and is rounded at the end.
He seems to always have it on his desk or with him. I even found it in the wash.
This seems drug related.
Any ideas?

I used to use these when my nose was stuffy. They work really well. But maybe you should have your son's tube checked to see if there is anything else in it.

some people have a chronically stuffed up nose and the more you use things like vicks to relieve the stuffyness, the more dependent you become on them because they have a rebound reaction of irritating and making your tissues in your nose swell. So, the answer is to relieve it again with the menthol which seems to last a short time. I can remember my younger brother doing this.
20 years ago we would have just thought the person's nose was stuffy and it is probably the same today.

I used to use alot of drugs...ALOT. I went to a treatment center though and I am clean for almost 6 months now. So I have a little insight on this...
The thing you are describing, is called a Vick's inhaler, and when I used to roll (take extacy pills) we would use them to enhance the feeling of the pills. If you have noticed anything else mentholated like Newport Cigarettes, Winterfresh chewing gum or Vick's vapor rub...then you need to worry. Also people that are using extacy like glowsticks and other things that light up, and they drink ALOT of water or orange juice...and sometimes they listen to techno music as well.

He's probably taking a lot of ecstacy....I went to a rave once when i was younger and EVERYONE had those tubes! I guess it feels really good to inhale it while you are on x.....so you should definitely be worried.

Some people like the way it smells, especially those who enjoy scents. Smelling it is NOT dangerous, ingesting it would be and seeing how I have accidently tasted it, I can't see him doing it.

It can be drug related. People who roll (use Ecstasy) use it to enhance the feeling of euphoria when rolling (being high on x)!

I don't know if it is drug related. I would hide it from him and see if he really needs it.

I would confiscate it and make sure there are no drugs in it.
