Stretch marks are common for people (men&women) who's experienced a dramatic change in their weight, and as you mentioned, they can appear just about any and everywhere.
I would imagine that you are concerned b/c of the appearance of them, which is typical for women. I would recommend cocoa or shea butter to eliminate them.
The time it takes for them to disappear, would be determined by how long you've had them and how consistent you are with applying a cream (ie cocoa/shea butter) to even your skin tone.
A dermatogolist would be the best person to speak with if you're extremely concerened or have a severe case of marks on your body.

It is not unheard of- the reason why people (women mostly) get stretch marks is because of big weight fluctuactions- when you rapidly gain and drop pounds. There is nothing really you can do to get trid of them, once you get them, they are pretty much there. One way to prevent them (esp. if you are pregnant) is to rub cocoa butter on the skin- but I never tried it myself, so I cannot vouch for that.

I have strech marks on my tummy, thighs, breasts, and even my calves. They tell you to watch out fot strech marks when you are pregnant but I didn't know you could get them everywhere! Anyway I used just plain vitamin E oil and it healed them so fast I couldn't believe it. You just rub it on your skin. Now you can barely see them. Good luck!

It can be normal, you don't have to deal with it though, find the origianl microdermabrasion cloth on ebay, slowly will remove outlayer of skin, with regular use of aloe and cocoa butter, helps rid them, might take months but worth it. Best treatment, preventing them, moisturize.

they won't hurt you, but if you don't like the look there's a couple of creams that claim to work. The only one I've found that actually fades them is Stri-Vectin, macys sells it. To avoid getting them try and use lotion a lot, the cocoa butter ones work pretty well.

It's very common
You get them if you suddenly gain/loose weight
Lots of teenage girls get them because of puberty and growth spurts, but they eventually fade to pale silvery lines so don't worry.

its very normal. you can always try creams to diminish and prevent stretch marks, I use a product from Avon that has helped alot, and my friend tried it after her pregnancy and it helped her too, and its very affordable.
