Verizon Home Phone Service (telephone) Caller ID?

Verizon wants $7.95 per month to add CALLER ID. It is not for me but for a friend. Does anyone know how I can go around this? Is their a box or something I can buy or is it simply unavailable unless I pay Verizon? (fyi - the phone does indeed have caller ID) THANKS!

that is just to much money for 1 feature! but if you want it, you gotta pay it!! that really sucks...doesn't it!

Either pay Verizon or forward the calls to your cell phone.
