does tripe really help dogs put on weight if so what breeds does it work best on?

I used to feed my male staff tripe, he loved it and it really did beef him up. But I would recommend extra activities with the dog so that the weight becomes muscle instead of fat.

I haven't heard about using tripe before, but if you have a skinny dog that you are trying to put weight on then try a good quality food designed for active dogs, or maybe a puppy food supplimenting its regular food as an extra source of calories.

Yes, I had a rescue dog once. Tripe, eggs and weetabix worked on him. He was a Doberman by the way and put weight on fairly quickly

tripe is brilliant for dogs, but you need to by the "green" tripe, not the bleached white stuff that is sold for human consumption (Bleggh!!) Only drawback, you need a strong stomach & not much sense of smell.

I had two st bernards which I fed on tripe the larger of the two though not fat weighed in at 17stone

it is a very good foodstuff,we feed it twice a day on our Mastiffs,and they thrive on it,
