The first thing I thought of was getting a bunch of twigs, or leafless trees and putting hearts in your colors on them as if they were leaves. Then have some 'falling' and in mid air by hanging them by fishing line...then scatter some at the bottom.
It would be very cool as centerpieces.
Then you could make a large one and put the guests names on the hearts and what table they're at. A cute alternative to seating chart!

I was married in the fall but we didn't do a theme. Marriage is a rite and has a set pattern of what is expected by the guests. Themes are not necessary and might actually detract from the seriousness of the occasion. It's a wedding, a celebration of committing to a life-time together, and that makes it special all by itself.

You know what? You're going to be married with any luck for 50+ years. In just one year people will remember very little about your wedding except how in love you looked - unless something is so bad it would stand out in their memory. People still remember that my groomsmen were late for the wedding (16 years later). Hopefully your wedding won't be remembered for being overly cutesy.

The centerpieces could be little trees with heart shaped leaves in the colors of your wedding sitting on a light pedestal so it looks like it's on a frost circle with the same color M&M's tossed on the tables and in little sachels for your guests to enjoy (you can order them online with a special message). Your invitation could be a couple freefalling while holding hands and there arms for a heart with the date in it. The first invitational dance for everyone could be I'm Falling in Love With You. Have fun and hope you get the perfet idea for your special day!

Ohhh you have a lot of time to plan - that's great!!! We had a fall wedding and it was great! Lots of fun little details and great warm colors. I think the little details are a very fun part of it. I love seeing all the unique ways people decorate and the little touches really personalize it. Okay for ideas, Chocolate is a very hot color right now. We did all chocolate and taupe. We were able to find a great linen company with amazing prices and had chocolate floorlength satin tablecloths and chocolate chaircovers. (PS the full covers were only $2 and the Tablecloths $12 for satin -such a great price) So we started with a chocolate base - then we did linen napkins. Gold chargers, our party favors were wrapped in raw linen (Dress My Chair - the linen company) got us extra material to cut up and wrap them in and we tied it off with twine and a maple leaf. We had taupe satin ties on the chaircovers and stuck a leave in the knot of each one. We have maple leaves on the table and flowers in burnt orange, cream, deep red, with berries. We had lots on candles in votives with twigs entwined in them. We based a lot of the theme on the "fallen in love" theme. We had an arch made of twigs with maple leaves and flowers attached. Our bakery made us the greatest chocolate cake and we put coffee bean berries and cram baby roses on it. We are still hearing compliments. Good luck with your wedding!

There is a site that makes salt and pepper shakers with a tag that says "the perfect pair"...those would be great favors. Then you can incorporate pears into your centerpieces and decor...nothing like a punch of green with orange and red.

get lots of faux fall colored leaves, and hang them at various levels from the ceiling using clear fishing line so they look like they are "falling" from the ceiling - jus tmake sure the lowest ones are at least high enough that no one will be brushign them with their heads.

Love the theme idea by the way
