what? no way! It's your day, enjoy every minute of wearing that dress!! If you feel weird or it might be hard to move around the restaurant in it, then I'd look for a white dress the change into at the reception. I definately don't think you should be embarassed though!

If the reception follows the ceremony directly, then yes, absolutely wear your dress. It's not as if everyone else at the restaurant won't understand that you're having a wedding reception.

If there's time in between, you might be more comfortable changing...However, the thing to do here is to have another new, really nice dress, which can be expensive.

Also, will your husband still be in his tux? Will your attendants still be in the outfits they wore to the wedding? If so, I'd say it's entirely appropriate to wear your gown to the reception.

I would absolutely wear your dress to your reception. It's a wedding reception, it doesn't matter if it's at a restaurant. I'm having a reception at a restaurant as well, and I plan on wearing my dress the whole day.

It's a lot of time, effort, and money to pick out a dress, and you only get to wear it for one day, so enjoy every minute of it, and be proud to be in your dress!

WEAR IT! Don't be embarassed...you will have just gotten married. Its not like you just walked in off the street wearing a wedding dress for fun! That is the only day you are ever going to wear that dress...so keep it on for as long as you can!!!

Do what makes you feel happy! Its YOUR day. Im having Dinner at a restaurant after my wedding and im Keeping my dress ON! Not to even mention that its a custom made dress so im going to enjoy every minute of it. If it really makes you uncomfortable then change into something that you know you wil feel good in but if not...go right ahead and enjoy that dress because you have every right to do so!

I see no problem with it as long as the restaurant has no problem with it. I would just let the restaurant manager know if you will be wearing a gown with a huge train or lots of poofy crinoline, since they may have to allow extra room around you for your gown not to get in the way or be tripped over. Other than that, I say wear it, it's not like you are going to wear it again!

Not at all. Your wedding dress is the dress that you were for your entire wedding day. As long as you aren't going to McDonalds, then I say you are fine. Enjoy your day--and your reception.

It's perfectly OK! The restaurant already kinows it's a wedding reception, and it's your happy day and I swear that all the other patrons will give you such beaming smiles. Wear it! Be proud of it! You'll be told by random strangers that you're a beaming bride, and congratulations!

Go for it - it is your wedding day, you wear that dress 1 time inyour life - wear it anywhere you want that day! Don't be embarrased, be proud to show that you just got married.

I've seen girls at bars in wedding dresses - after the reception, now that i find a bit cheezy.

Perfectly OK. You might want to take off the veil so that it is easier to get around. Another option is to have a reception dress. If it were me, I would leave it on.
